The EU’s 27 member states plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein form the EEA. Product projects still require country-specific planning.

The European Economic Area comprises the EU’s 27 member states plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The United Kingdom and Switzerland are outside this 30-country group.

The shared market framework supports cross-border business, but it does not mean that a product approval, building permission, tax or operating arrangement automatically works identically in every country.
